While there are many return elements in Tears of the Kingdom from Breath of the Wild, Geoglyphs are new. This is a new method to obtain story-related information and learn more about Zelda, making the first stop to complete this quest and get the next one high on the list of importance for new players. Read on to find out both how to discover the Impa and the Geoglyphs quest, and also how to solve it!
How to begin quest Impa and the Geoglyphs
On the path to the Northeast, one of the first major locations is New Serenne Stable. Players can catch and stable wild horses here, and there’s also the beginning of a very important quest nearby. Just across the road to the stable is an NPC named Cado. He’ll mention Impa’s doing something important, and point Link in her direction. There’s a platform visible nearby with a platform, which Link should approach.
Impa’s waiting there, and admits that there’s a Geoglyph around that she was trying to view from high above before her hot air balloon broke. Use the Ultrahand skill to pick up the balloon and reattach it to the base. Speak to Impa after, and she’ll board the craft. Be careful- if you light the wood under the balloon first it’ll take off without the elderly passenger and the game will force you to reload just before your mistake! Once Impa’s safely standing, light the wood and then fly up above with her. There’s a clear image down below, but she can’t quite figure out the missing piece that provides further information on the massive image.
Jump down and use your paraglider to hover down to the face of the glyph. Towards one of the eyes, there’s a puddle. Press A to examine it, and a cutscene will play, bestowing Link with an important story-focused memory. To learn more about Princess Zelda, Link needs to explore further Geoglyph’s and find further dragon tears.
