Dead Island 2 Roadmap Reveals Two Expansions

dead island 2 roadmap pass

Dambuster Studios and Deep Silver have revealed the future of the Dead Island 2 roadmap with an update on the future of the game that looks positively tantalising. In the recent update, it was confirmed that two sizeable expansions will be released for Dead Island 2, and a series of additional character packs and content drops are both coming and have been made available to purchase and/or download now.

There’s also an ongoing Twitch Drops campaign that has been kicked off to celebrate the news, and fans of the franchise can watch Twitch streamers play Dead Island 2 on Twitch to unlock exclusive goodies in-game. That campaign runs until July 9th, and reportedly, a little as twenty minutes of watch time will net you a time-exclusive weapon.

Dead Island 2: From Strong to Stronger

Dead Island 2 was heralded as a monumental return to form for the zombie-slaying franchise that had sat almost abandoned for a decade. It had a troubled development cycle that saw the series change hands numerous times, but when it was finally released, it exceeded expectations the world over.

And now, Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios have revealed that the fun is only just beginning. There are two expansions planned for release over the next year or so:

  • Haus (Q4 2023)
    • “How does a billionaire prepare for the zombocalypse? A techno-death cult with a healthy splash of debauchery and gore!”
  • SOLA Festival (Q2 2024)
    • “Welcome to the SOLA festival, where LA’s party people can greenwash their way to ecstasy and save the planet, one rave at a time.”

If you’ve purchased the expansion pass, you’ll already have access to this content when it drops, otherwise, it’ll be an additional purchase.

Following the recent news that the Embracer Group – parent firm to Deep Silver – is suffering under the weight of restructuring and layoffs, this is an injection of something positive for the firm.
