Activision has removed its NICKMERCS Operator Bundle following the creator’s LGBT+ comments.
Taking to Twitter, FaZe Nickmercs responded to a tweet from eSports broadcaster Chris Puckett that showed violence between anti and pro-LGBTQ+ demonstrators outside a school voting to recognise June as Pride Month. “They should leave little children alone. That’s the real issue,” Nickmercs responded.
Soon after the tweet, the creator took to his live stream to respond to the backlash, saying that it wasn’t “his intention to piss anyone off”, but he won’t apologise. “I’m not apologising about the tweet because I don’t feel like it’s wrong, I’m going to stand by what I said, I’m not going to delete the tweet, I just want to make sure everyone understands exactly the point I was trying to make by tweeting my response”, he said.

Several hours later Call of Duty account CharlieINTEL reported that the NICKMERCS bundle had been removed from the Warzone and MWII store. The tweet prompted the official Call of Duty account to reply, “Due to recent events, we have removed the “NICKMERCS Operator” bundle from the Modern Warfare II and Warzone store. We are focused on celebrating PRIDE with our employees and our community.”
The Nickmercs skin was released in Call of Duty on May 31, 2023, and it’s unclear if the bundle will return to the game or not.
